I am a lover of the darkroom. The water running, the lights down low and the constant repetitive movements from enlarger to chemical to water to chemical. How it feels when I am in the woods or with my subject and the camera, and the fearless open release I get when I am photographing is something I am so grateful for. My relationship with my camera is a silent trust and comfort. I wait, listen, patiently, quietly, and I never photograph anything without permission from the subject, including the trees. I grew up connecting to my native american roots so respecting the land I am on and what I am photographing in the woods is very important to me. My eyes are always photographing,
seeking, watching. I feel I get the best photograph when I let go and create a relationship with the subject that is respectful and equal. I take the fact that I can photograph these subects as a gift as apposed to something that is just available to me.   I am currently a Northern Vermonter and loving ever minute of it.
